Join us in 108 Sun Salutations for Winter Solstice and in raising funds for GiveIndia’s pandemic relief campaign
This year we’ll come together on the 20th June (day before solstice), to welcome the light after acknowledging the (almost) longest night. We’re looking forward to being able to gather as a community and feel especially grateful to be able to practice together this year.
Currently India, the birthplace of the yoga tradition, is in crisis.
With the intention of helping those in India who are struggling, we are raising money to donate to the GiveIndia covid relief campaign.
Leading up to the Solstice, we’ll be collecting koha the following ways:
cash in studio
bank transfer online
Directly to GiveIndia via https://fundraisers.giveindia.org/fundraisers/the-raglan-yoga-community-is-raising-money-to-help-those-in-india-struggling-with-the-covid-pandemic
100% of money raised will go to GiveIndia.
We’ve chosen GiveIndia due to its “reputation among effective altruists, transparency about costs, and the fact that it pays among the lowest prices for concentrators, cylinders, and generators”.
More info on GiveIndia’s work can be found here: https://covid.giveindia.org
Feel free to share this link with anyone you think might like to help.
We’ll be working more sun salutations into our practices over the following weeks, in order to build strength and stamina for the 108. However, all bodies are welcome. You can always pause in child’s pose or take modifications to honour your unique body. Presence and breath are all you really need.
From quiet dark we’ll come together in movement and breath as the sun rises and the light swells.
Sign-up for 108 in studio as numbers are limited! You can also join us on Zoom from home or anywhere in the world!
Arrive 6.30am, to begin practice at 6.45.
